Lance Armstrong called for his toughest assignment ever

Amidst his euphoric seventh Tour De Lance (I think they should rename it from Tour De France just like Jaya would rename the streets of Chennai after she comes to power), Lance Armstrong got a phone call. A call that has been termed as his biggest assignment ever - something more tougher, more demanding, more excruciating than anything and everything he has so far experienced.

Click here for more details on the call.....

Best of Luck Lance...

13.1 miles and still miles to go before I sleep

I finished the Napa Valey Half Marathon last week. It was a hot day and a hilly course from Napa to Sonoma and I finished the race in 2 hours and 49 minutes, little bit slower than my usual pace at the training.

Here are some photos.

Get out of the house, we need to build a mall here

I am presuming that by the time I write this there would have been atleast few tens of homes in the United States that might have been brought down by this new law . The law basically states that "The City may take your property through eminent domain to make way for a hotel and convention center if it promises to bring more revenue to the city and th houseowner is compensated at his market value."

I am not sure about how you feel about this but to me it sucks. Imagine a middle class couple who could have saved upto the last penny to build their dream home and the city walks and says "Ok, Mom and Pop, please leave. We are going to build a mall here". I think it would be a big blow to them.

Giving them permission to build a home and then asking them to leave is cruel. reminds me of the closing lines in a very famous song - "You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave"

Make Poverty History
When one of the greatest bands ever, come together after a two decade long split and perform together, you better realize that the cause is something special. Pink Floyd [ read kickass] came together and performed at the Live 8 concert. 4 songs, 4 masterful, soul searching, nerve tingling, breathtaking, dumbfounding, eyecatching masterpieces reaffirming their status as the Globe's Greatest set of musicians ever to form a band. The band members buried their differences and played together at the Live 8 concerts past weekend. For those who missed it [ including today's reruns], go here

Live 8 is a huge effort on the part of these musicians to pressurize the G-8 to make poverty history in Africa. If you are one one among those who believe that poverty has no place in this world, please take time and show your solidarity at Live 8 website. If you are one of those cynics like the famous "Cho" Ramaswamy who just sits there in a cool comfy air conditioned room and waxes elonquently about what needs to be done rather than doing it, please read on what the concerts accomplished nearly 20 years back in 1985 here

Rather than sitting there and hogging resources, do your bit for this world.

I have forgotten Bush Bashing ever since he won the elections last year. But it is a good time to revisit the only not-so-titilliating *Bush* you will ever see.... Our man fell off his bicycle . Mr. President was aparently listening to t I want to ride my bicycle by Queen in his iPod. Never has a song sung all the praises about this man in a more appropriate and glowing manner.

You say black I say white
You say bark I say bite
And I don't like Star Wars
You say Rolls I say Royce
You say Lord I say Christ
Bicycle races are coming your way
So forget all your duties oh yeah!
You say coke I say caine
I don't wanna be the President of America
Income tax I say Jesus
I don't wanna be a candidate for
Vietnam or Watergate
Cause all I wanna do is

Bicycle bicycle bicycle
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like

You can't let them beat you.

I have never been able to fathom the motivation and the lust for such bloodbaths.
LOndon fell a victim a day after the city was joyously celebrating winning the bid for the 2012 games. Not surprisingly, Al Qaeda has taken responsibility for the killings. Can you ever kill a man for the sake of religion?

Just a few days back, pieces of shit [ although they call themselves millitants] stormed the already controversial Ram Janmabhoomi/Babri Masjid site only to get killed by the security forces.
Their heads have to be in their d***s to carry out acts like this repeatedly.

Again, as the sixty three year old man in London said " You can't let them beat you". So lets live our life the way we want it.
