Phoenix Suns played like total idiots today. Marion was totally clueless missing easy layups and free throws. If Phoenix has to win the series, Marion has to play his best basketball. He needs to beat Chris Kaman off the dribble and pick up some rebounds. I hope he can play a better game on the road in LA, a city whose fans will be eager to give it back to the Suns for eliminating the Lakers.

Barry Bonds needs to wait one more game for 714. His whole home run chase is just tomfoolery. The world knows that this guy's numbers are all juiced up and I simply do not understand why the media makes such a big deal out of it. This whole episode tires me and I hate Bonds headline Sportscenter when there are better sporting moments happening around America.

An Open Letter to Kobe Bryant

Kobe,
How is life without Mr.Bell breathing down your neck all the time? Are you hugging your new born enough? Are you still pissed off that you did not even figure in the top 2 MVP candidates even after averaging close to 36 points a game in the regular season? Are you still upset that your Laker teammates could not make some routine plays and made the basketball hoop look as small as a sock hole? Is Tim Thomas still giving you the nightmares?

I am really interested in knowing why took just three shots in the entire second half of that Saturday game. Even Nash who takes pride in involving his team mates would have taken more. Don't you believe in that famous saying that said something like we would atleast die trying. I would rather take 15 shots in a quarter of an elimination game rather than 81 points in a regular season game. In the end your team mates failed you and you failed your team. You were outscored in that half even by Matt Burke of Phoenix Suns, who has spent more time this season shooting pool than shooting the basketball.

If I were you, I would walk up to Jerry Buss and ask him to put some real basketball players on the court alongside you. Guys like Kwame Brown would be a great fit for the Indian basketball team but not for the NBA. How about asking for Kevin Garnett ? After all Garnett himself is frustrated at not having won even a single championship despite years of blood and sweat. If you do not want another mega star and you want an abolsute weak kneed basketball player with a shooting range as hot as a cooking range, try to get Peja Stojakovic.

Hoping to see you again next year in your new jersey 24 and I hope you have some teammates who can play basketball and do not crash like the PC in the Mac and PC ads. The Phoenix Suns can really use some competition.

A Suns fan.

P.S:If there was one Laker who needs to stay, it is Ronny Turiaf. Turiaf was your primary cheerleader for all the games and showed better towel handling skills than ball handling skills.

Ultra Marathon in Bangalore

Ultra Marathons are races where the runners run over 50 kms. [it is around 30 miles]. It is very common in the United States. A friend of mine forwarded a link about an ultramarathon in Bangalore and the event is advertised here

It says run 100 miles in 2 days. I thought it takes 2 days to even drive 100 miles in Bangalore :-)

Soles of Compassion - Racing to Educate

Almost there!!! Running in Los Gatos Creek Trail Posted by Picasa

I am training to run the Chicago Marathon on Oct 9, 2005. I am running the Marathon to raise funds for constructing balwadis in Nalbari district of Assam, an area ridden by militant insurgency. Asha Darshan is the Non-Governmental Organization coordinating work on the ground. ASHA and AID are working with the group in constructing balwaadis and setting up Self Help Groups for the women in the area respectively. Here is a link to the project page - http://www.ashanet.org/projects/project-view.php?p=284

Please contribute to my fundraising efforts as I try to raise $2620 [ $100 per every mile of the marathon] towards this project. You would have made a difference with any contribution. All contributions are tax-exempt. Click here to Contribute online

Thanks and feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions.

Lance Armstrong called for his toughest assignment ever

Amidst his euphoric seventh Tour De Lance (I think they should rename it from Tour De France just like Jaya would rename the streets of Chennai after she comes to power), Lance Armstrong got a phone call. A call that has been termed as his biggest assignment ever - something more tougher, more demanding, more excruciating than anything and everything he has so far experienced.

Click here for more details on the call.....

Best of Luck Lance...
